John Ciecko
Oakland University Asst. Athletic Trainer

Starting his fourth season as a member of the Oakland athletic training staff is John Ciecko. He will be working primarily with the men's soccer, swimming and diving and baseball teams, as well as assisting with cross country and golf. He will also assist with the day-to-day operations of Oakland's athletic training room.
Prior to joining the staff at Oakland, Ciecko spent the 2005-06 season as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at McGuffey High School where he provided coverage of practice and games. He also evaluated injuries and assisted with the rehabilitation of sports injuries for both the high school and middle school programs.
In addition to being a Certified Athletic Trainer and a certified strength and conditioning specialist, he is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a performance enhancement specialist, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer Association, the Michigan Athletic Trainer Society and the National Hispanic Medical Association.
Ciecko graduated from Albion College in Michigan in 2005 with a BA in athletic training. While an undergraduate at Albion he assisted the athletic training staff with practice and game coverage for football, basketball, track and field, tennis, volleyball and baseball. Ciecko earned his master's degree in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania in May of 2006.
